Strikes and suspensions
Doolaby works because members can trust each other. When someone breaks the rules, our team can give a strike.
What can earn a strike
- Selling an item that is not genuine.
- Arranging a sale, payment or meeting outside Doolaby, for example asking for cash or a bank transfer.
- Abusive or threatening messages.
- Trying to scam another member.
- Listing an item that is not allowed, or a listing that is misleading.
How strikes work
- Every strike lasts 12 months, then ends on its own.
- We tell you straight away when you get a strike, and why.
- Three strikes at the same time means your account is suspended for 6 months.
- When a suspension ends, you start again with no strikes.
- In serious cases, such as fraud, we can suspend an account straight away.
Who can see them
Only you and the Doolaby team. Other members never see your strikes. You can see yours at any time in Settings, under Account standing.
If your account is suspended
- Your items are hidden and you cannot buy, sell or send messages.
- When you try to log in, you see how long is left, counting down to the day you can come back.
- You can appeal from the same screen. Tell us why you think it is wrong, and include anything that helps, like a receipt.
- Our team reads every appeal. If we agree, we lift the suspension straight away.
